Guided Farmicut River Trip::
A refreshing float down the scenic Farmicut River, the Farmicut River is the blending of the Farmington and the Connecticut rivers. Meet us for registration at Pleasant Street Park behind Bart’s Deli. From there we will bring you to the put in on River Street in Poquonock. You will enjoy, sandy bottoms, great fishing, clean safe water, and a stunning array of wild life. The trip continues to the boat launch located back at Pleasant Street Park, feel free to stop at Bart’s Deli for lunch. After lunch, hop backing your kayak or canoe for the next 5-mile leg which will take you to the confluence of the Farmington River and the Connecticut River. There is an island that separates the rivers, at the southern tip of this island is a great sand bar that you can stop for a swim and a sweet rope swing. There are eagles nesting upstream on the Connecticut River. If you are lucky you will see one pick up a fish in its talons. This trip ends beneath the Bissell Bridge. In total the trip is about 10 miles and takes small groups 3-4 hours to finish.
